The U.S. Coast Guard has ordered a cargo ship detained in an Alaska port until leaking oil containers on board are repaired.
The Anchorage Daily News reports the leaking oil was discovered after the BBC Arizona on May 28 reached Valdez .
Crew members were preparing to unload steel beams that had been welded to the deck for transit. Sparks from a cutting torch ignited sawdust that was soaked with leaking oil. The small fire was extinguished.
Response crews have recovered about 3,000 gallons of oily water from the deck of the vessel.
