ONGC, as an organisation, has always accorded priority to Health, Safety and Environment issues. It is on the forefront when it comes to training, related to any aspect of oil business, including offshore systems. As a matter of fact, out of 361 employees who survived, ONGC’s vessels rescued 348 of them. Accidents, however, are a part of any industry. Unfortunate accident at BHN affected the entire ONGC family. Unfortunately at this juncture – when majority of the ONGCians expressed their solidarity & support, a few, with vested interests tried to take advantage of the situation, by spreading misleading information – both to ONGCians and external agencies. These people need to be “Identified, Isolated and Cornered,” in the interest of the Health, Safety and working environment of our great institution.
