Four Polish crew members were found lifeless aboard the freighter Corina flying the Polish flag in Hanstholm Harbour. The discovery was made during the unloading on Tuesday where they found the crew members unconscious in the hold filled with wood pellets.
"It is reasonable to believe that it is emissions from cargo that has caused this. There have also been incidents before where people have been found unconscious in enclosed spaces," says Anders Olsen, head of security at the Mid and West Jutland Police.
One crew member died, while the other three woke up in the hospital in Hjørring. A fifth member of the crew had saved himself from the hold.
