Two crewmen died and five were reported missing after a North Korean cargoship sank off the Greek island of Chios in the Aegean.
The 1,650-gt general cargoship Lady O (built 1966) was overwhelmed by strong winds and heavy seas early on Monday, the Greek coastguard said.
Three of the 10-strong crew have been rescued, with searches ongoing for the others.
“The vessel sent out distress signals at dawn. It subsequently sunk near Psara island. The crew consisted of eight Egyptians and two Lebanese,” a coastguard spokesperson said.
The ownership of the vessel was unknown. It had not been detained at its last five port state inspections.
It was carrying iron from Evia in Greece to Istanbul.
