The Liberian M/T "Ravan River" collided with a local Turkish ferry in front of the Haydarpasa Breakwater at around 2215 hours local time last night (January 20) as a result of poor visibility due to dense fog.
According to pilots, the tanker sustained slight damage as a result of the collision, but continued its northbound passage without interruption.
Five people injured on the ferry were taken to hospital.
Traffic in the Strait was suspended between 2200 hours local time last night and 0500 hours local time this morning (January 21), due to dense fog.
