Uruguay has finished cleaning an oil spill off the coast of the Maldonado province, where a Norwegian-flagged tanker spilled oil when unloading last saturday.
After the accident, Uruguay’s emergency department and navy launched an operation to keep the pollution under control.
Preliminary investigation showed that a crack in a pipeline connecting the tanker and the platform caused the oil spill, the ANCAP said.
