On Thursday 29 October, a Norwegian coast guard patrol arrested the Russian fishing vessel Sapfir-2 on charges of dumping fish in the waters near the Norwegian island of Spitsbergen in the Barents Sea.
The vessel was then escorted to the Norwegian port of Tromso, where local police plan to open a probe into the incident.
Russian state-run fishery agency Rosrybolovstvo has declined to comment.
