FRANKFURT, June 1 (Reuters) - A Dutch tanker ship carrying 1,500 tonnes of diesel collided with a bridge over the river Main in the town of Hanau just east of Frankfurt on Thursday, a Frankfurt river police spokesman said.
Nobody was injured and no oil spill has been detected from the 90-metre long Gavialis, Norbert Huebscher said by telephone.
The bridge has been closed to traffic and shipping along the Main has come to standstill, he said, adding that tugboats were in place to tow away the tanker.
