PORT ARTHUR, Texas — The Coast Guard has closed vessel traffic in the Sabine-Neches Waterway south of the Intracoastal Waterway due to a fuel spill after an accident.

The Coast Guard says the motor vessel King Yukon apparently hit the fishing vessel Capt. Scott early Thursday near Mesquite Point on the Sabine River. No injuries were reported.

The Coast Guard says the accident around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday caused minor damage to two other fishing vessels moored to the pier and that caused one of those boats, the Little Angel, to lose diesel fuel.

Clean up crews have deployed 400 feet of containment boom and sorbents to prevent further spread of diesel fuel into the waterway.
